I did IT!

It was my graduation week. Suddenly, my hopes of finishing my college education came true. All the hard work, long work hours, study periods, cramming periods, tiring days and nights, and time spent away from my son rewarded me with this single sheet of paper called "college diploma". Then suddenly, it hit me... what am I going to do now? Where do I go from here? What things should I pursue now that my ultimate goal has finally been reached. Then it sinked in that I now have to figure out more things to do with my life. But similar to my experiences with my previously achieved goals, I know that I have to toil and work harder this time to achieve more things that I wanted in my life.

Of course, I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who helped me make the "impossible" possible.

As the "MIA" writer that I am, I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to my boss - my friend, Sandi for always finding it in her heart to understand my interesting predicament. Thank you for being a great boss, a friend and an inspiration for a struggling writer and mother like me. As it is, you're doing a great job on your own and I'd like to bring that positive attitude in my life.

As a stubborn sister, daughter and niece that I am, I would like to thank my family for the support and affection that consistently gave me strength to go through everything that is necessary to reach my goals. I am what I am because you guys helped me become what I am ... a winner!

As a reluctant, confused, dramatic, neurotic yet trying-to-be-the-coolest-young-hot-mother that I am, I would like to dedicate my achievements to my SON, my everything. This is just the start so NJ, just hang in for this will be quite a ride!

Lastly, I dedicate everything to my greatest inspiration... the never tiring and unconditional love and affection that you have bestowed upon me was what held me through it all. It is your love that SAVED my life and I promise to live out the most of the life that YOU gave me. Dear Lord, you are the greatest love I have seen in my life. My love for my son, my family and my loved one --- my love for them is a reflection of what you gave me. Thank you for teaching me everything I know now... and I look forward to the tests that you will give me. I am eternally grateful dear Lord, you've protected me from making wrong decisions, you enlightened me of the persons who have taken from me and hurt me. I pray to you for peace in mind and heart of every person's life I have touched, for every person who brought hurt and shame into my life, for the people who helped me and supported me... as I would hope to give them the same courtesy they have given me. Thank you for everything. I pray for my heartfelt thanks in Jesus' name.....AMEN

Whew!

Im so sorry guys for neglecting this blog for like two weeks. Wendastarr just got busy with school and many other things. After surviving OJT, thesis writing and thesis defense, I have a good feeling that all my hard work will pay well.

Finally, school will be over. After all the blood, sweat and tears, I can finally say that my life is close to being the way I wanted it to be...I planned it to be. That thought I made a long "detour", I still managed to go back on track.

Time and time again, I am thankful for the support system that I have. My son, my family, my friends, my classmates and my professors, I thank everyone for bearing with the "temperamental me" these past few weeks.

God speed!

Simply Thankful

Our campus minister, who happened to be also my dear Spanish instructor, told me that being thankful to the littlest things in life will help me make a 360-degree turn, in terms of my perception of life. Being thankful for the clean air, for the tap water that reaches our  home, for the decent meals I share with my family in our dinner table, these things are often overlooked when appreciating life.

Many times, I have complained about the trivial things like the heat, the difficulties of learning to speak Spanish, NJ’s “toy installations” in the living room, the sweat and the remains of a good meal on my collar and pants. I always find it easy to complain about things, which sometimes makes me feel a bit discontented about my life. Although I have all the things I needed to thrive, I seem to have acquired a habit of complaining. This Christmas, I want to be more appreciative and thankful for everything that God has given me. I am thankful for the love that people has bestowed upon me. I am thankful for the true friendship that strengthened me. I am thankful for the people who have wronged me deeply, because they convinced me that somehow some way, God exacts justice where it is needed be, because in the end, I was the one who ended up polished and gleaming and happy. Things simply go back to where they belong. No matter how much difficulty, hardship or pain I have suffered, what’s important is the person that these things made me become – stronger, driven, better, though a bit feisty.

I have learned to look at the good things that come out of the bad things. I have learned to see hope in frustration. I have seen consequences with offenses. I have seen fairness.  For all these things, I am thankful.

I have the Best Boss Ever

During the times that I was drenched in stress, there was my ever supportive boss offering prayers and help. I do not even have to say anything, I was understood. Of all the things that I have, I am thankful for this one person who was ever supportive about my crazy life.

I must have done something right to earn such respect. So here’s to you boss, and to the job that I so love to do for you. Thank You!

Yes!

On my first attempt to participate in a debate...we won!

on the proposition to adopt the provisions of the Magna Carta for Students, our team managed to overwhelm our honorable competitors by... 1 percent on our average ratings.LOL!

what's fun in the activity was everything got lost in the middle of the discussion..with all the nervousness and self consciousness that's getting in the way, clouding our dispositions and command for our words, I say we pulled it off.

so what's the price of winning? EXEMPTION IN THE FINALS EXAM!

so there...I am just happy to pull this event off of my to-do list.

we were just so tired with all the research...well, should I say "I" was tired of doing all the research and in completing all the answers to our list of possible interpolation questions. Boy that's a relief!!!

No More CRY

I wanna feel just like before
Before the rain came in my door
Shook me up, turned me 'round
Made me cry 'til I would drown
Stole the daylight brought the nights
So much anger I would fight
Lost my youth, amid the blue

'Till I saw all my loneliness in you
Want to help you, give you love
Shine some light out from the mud
Fill the empty, find a rhyme
A brighter day, a better time
But I'm wondering where I'm gone
Can't find the truth within my mind
All I have I'll give to you
To let you know you're not alone

I'm telling you
Smiling for you only
I'm trying for you solely
I'm praying for you only
No more cry times
I want to hear my laugh again
Without the ache to bring you down
Everything will never be the same
Now that you took my pain
If it's true what people say
There still is beauty in each day

We find comfort in each other's strength
I'm not alone anymore
Here you are
with me...

Hello Everyone

I am sorry for neglecting my blog for a few days. I was just having an interesting issue to deal with that’s why. I just don’t know why people are offering their support this way. But I truly appreciate their concern. You see, I was cheated on right? Then while I was out enjoying myself, I seem to become a magnet of information I so desperately seek during those times when I needed explanation on a helluva lot of things about why I need to suffer this and that and all. It was just interesting that as I patch everything up, I discover how much of a fool I was to believe that my life was just perfect...that I needed some reality kick to realize..."hey, I was the last one to know." Surprised pa daw ang drama mo, well I was really surprised. But then, I was actually grinning with delight. Was that an oxymoron? Well, hell, I just felt good some truth landed on me without asking.

All the more that I am convinced that these people are rubbing their shoulders on me and will be to find a better place in my life. I see pity in their eyes, but I don’t mind. Months ago, I deserved that. But now? Maybe, but I have made peace with all these. It’s just that the closure I was still waiting for just landed on my lap without even asking. Thank you folks for caring. Thank you for the pity. I know that the next time you see me, I’ll make you all proud. I will be far off from the thrashed Wendy you are looking right at. That is a promise.

So she was the friend friend of your lady cousin ... I dunno but I just fell off...Anyways, I have made my peace...Just wait and see of what I will become out of these...'till then I will sing praise and thanks all of you. It's just I felt ill feeling like schemed upon believing a lie...But I got past through all that now...Well I really do hope happiness for you both because at this point, I don't know what value life is to you but well, LOVE?… I raise eyebrows and push them down. Hell, everything, too much information is sometimes a curse. I definitely welcome cynical thoughts. Hays, it'll get better. Aye?

All the dawn-wakings are worth it!!!

All the sleepless hours are worth killing for!!!

I just feel damn good right now!!! Isn’t it obvious? I am breaking syntax rules on my usage of exclamation points!!! Hell, I am on the clouds right now…you know the feeling when you couldn’t contain your excitement because if you show it, you will appear insane and you see halo, twinkling stars and fairies altogether and your eyes brightening up your face?

This is insane!!!

Hello Again

It’s been so long…I realized I haven't posted anything in ages...so ergoes...

Lately, I have been too lazy doing anything but keeping track of my academic standing…since midterm exam week has passed. The thing is, I am quite surprised that it did pull through all the exams, waving high scores to my surprise. Alright, alright…I did study, to the point that I have missed my article submissions and other deadlines (emphasis on OTHER deadlines), which means I haven’t earned a cent for a week. But all the trouble is worth it!!! I feel ecstatic coming to class this week because of the great news…

I am really quite surprised with everything that happens. I feel so in control with my life right now. I hope that this will continue on, I will work hard for these great things to go on. I am quite enjoying my new course, it fits me right, which is perhaps one of the reasons that I seem to be doing so well.

I will just remind my self to kneel and come to church on Sunday. I have so much to thank HIM for. NJ’s coughing troubles due to the cold weather have passed…and now this…I am quite thankful.

After all the angst that I had in the past, I never thought that all I needed was a different perspective in life. at this point, I don’t dwell on expectations, I don’t dwell on what I am supposed to be accomplishing at my age if I did good in my first attempt to college, and I try to avoid giving in to the pressures in life. This way, I feel better contented with my life. I cease wishing, hoping and asking for things to happen because I know that everything I wanted will come with hard work…yes people, HARD WORK!! Life is not supposed to be easy anyway. And so the trouble continues, but I bet that I can still charge towards my goals. Troubles, pressure and expectations become problems only when they are recognized as problems. To me, they are challenges, a sign that I still got room to grow and be better. And boy did I get better!!!

Thank God!
