Movie Weekend Ticket

I just got all mushy when I watched two very meaningful films last night. One was “Love Happens” by Jennifer Aniston and Aaron Eckhart and the “Time Traveler’s Wife” with Rachel McAdams and Eric Bana.

“Love Happens” to me was a self help book that is injected into a movie. It is about a self-help book author that now expands his book through seminars that caters to people who are dealing with loss due to death of someone they value in their lives. I even got the quote about lemons from this movie and though I am not a fan of this love story, I am a fan of his fictitious A-Okay book… especially the chapter that mentions about the lemons. Another thing is the one that he demonstrated two different perspectives of live, one that is filled with honks, traffic noise and heat and chaos and the other which is more serene, peaceful and beautiful. That convinced me that no matter what we deal in life, there are only two sides to look at it. Though anything can always get to worse, it wouldn’t harm if we try to choose the better view right? So I am making that beautiful view my personal template. Another thing is that no matter how hard times could be, when you wake up, spend time at least five minutes to smile. Just do nothing, just smile. Eventually, it will come naturally with an attitude that will allow you to survive the day beautifully.

Now on the other movie, the “Time Traveler’s Wife” my sister cried towards the end of the movie. Me? Nah! Can’t relate to it now…well, who am I kidding? Feeding the still bitter half of my heart, it just convinces me more that love is almost always not enough. It’s just sad to see a true love that ended badly, but everything works out for the best. And that I truly believe so. It’s just a classic story of why do all good things come to an end, no matter how people prevent it and no matter how people will it not to happen. It’s life, it makes its own path, own rules, which all of us spend a lifetime figuring out.

Law Abiding Citizen

This is for the folks who wanted serious action-thriller flicks. Law Abiding Citizen, which stars Jamie Fox and Gerard Butler (300), is one of the powerhouse cats movies to look out for this fall.

SYNOPSIS:

Clyde Shelton (Gerard Butler) is an upstanding family man whose wife and daughter are brutally murdered during a home invasion. When the killers are caught, Nick Rice (Jamie Foxx), a hotshot young Philadelphia prosecutor, is assigned to the case. Over his objections, Nick is forced by his boss to offer one of the suspects a light sentence in exchange for testifying against his accomplice.

Fast forward ten years. The man who got away with murder is found dead and Clyde Shelton coolly admits his guilt. Then he issues a warning to Nick: Either fix the flawed justice system that failed his family, or key players in the trial will die.

Soon Shelton follows through on his threats, orchestrating from his jail cell a string of spectacularly diabolical assassinations that can be neither predicted nor prevented. I have always been a sucker for movies, but I admit that I was never a fan of love stories until the movie Notebook reached theaters. As most people say, there's always a first time. So when I came across this trailer, I can't help but feel the same old feeling of excitement for another interesting love story, a story of love that transcends the challenges posed by time and by life as a whole. Truly, love is powerful. Behold another Rachel McAdams romantic movie offering for 2009.



Synopsis:
The Time Traveler’s Wife is based on the best-selling book about a love that transcends time. Clare (Rachel McAdams) has been in love with Henry (Eric Bana) her entire life. She believes they are destined to be together, even though she never knows when they will be separated. Hangover

I watched DreamWorks Pictures' "Hangover" last night and boy was it hilarious...after waiting the whole day to download the film, I thought I was all for sleep. but no, the movie was a real trip. It was about 3 best friends who have decided to go to Vegas in a drool-worthy Mercedes ride to have one of the friend's bachelor's party. They even got the brother of the bride to tag along (which incidentally was a big weirdo). anyhow, the adventure started when the 4-some has a toast at their hotel's rooftop. little did they know that the liquor they drank for the toast was drugged (big thanks to the brother of the bride). And so, the 4 went rowdy, hussy, horny, stupid and mischievous all night, only to discover that they have made quite a lot of trouble during the entire night. The next day, they woke up to discover their luxury hotel suite thrashed with a chicken roaming around the hall, a baby in the closet and a tiger waiting in the bathroom...With no memory of everything they've done, they re-traced their exciting night to a journey to some rowdy deeds...which everyone of them discovered later on..thanks to their digital cam. Go out and watch this movie and I swear, you'll have a hell of a time!!!Watch out for some nudity and profanity though...

Dreaming for New Exciting Movies

I have always been a movie freak…to certain extent; I have sacrificed my hard earned allowance and savings just to indulge myself into seeing movies where I can get lost into their riveting and gripping plot. Among all forms of art, I certainly lean more into movies when I have to get that artistic fix that makes my life more exciting or to find something I could proudly talk and brag about with my friends and co-workers. Maybe that is why I always find time to check out gossip columns and internet sites where movie releases are discussed at the earliest possible time. So this often leads me to sites that allow video streaming for new movie releases. Anyways, it prevents me from wasting money on nonsensical movies which would utterly hurt my budget. But what I am really looking forward to seeing is the new batman movie. Another one would be Angelina Jolie’s new assassin movie “Wanted”. And yet, I have wait to wait ages for the next Harry Potter movie. I promise to blab about the next movie I’ll go ga-ga about okay? As of now, sonic wall restrictions are getting on my nerves already. My temper really is rising right now. How I wish I could become this cool programmer that would break out from these system blocked pages and shove it to the administrator’s thick ****s.
